Ugly Dave first came onto Australian TV screens in 1969 on Graham Kennedy’s “In Melbourne Tonight.” When Graham left the show at the end of 1969 he told Channel 9 executives that Dave would be an ideal replacement, so at the start of 1970 Dave had his own National nightly variety show. Dave has since notched up over 4000 TV appearances on shows such as Celebrity Squares, The Ugly Dave Comedy Hour, Play Your Cards Right, Celebrity Tattletales and Blankety Blanks, as well as many guest appearances on many other shows. He has also featured on countless TV commercials. Dave’s career has had many highlights such as co-compering the Royal Variety Show at the Sydney Opera House for the Queen’s Jubilee year in 1977 and Gold and Platinum records for his Crest comedy album “Gray & Spicy” – reissued on iTunes. Dave resides on Queensland’s Gold Coast and still enjoys what he loves most, and does so well, making people laugh.
